Set up personalization for your replies

Updated

If a draft sounds polished but says nothing you would say, give ReplyPilot better context. Personalization stores background and style guidance for use when the panel's Personalization switch is enabled. It can help shape a draft; it does not guarantee an exact match to your voice.

Fill in the platform you use

  1. Sign in and open Personalization.
  2. Select the relevant platform tab. Configure the platform you plan to use first; the completion percentage is a setup indicator, not a writing-quality score.
  3. Enter your name and company where appropriate. Check that the identity fits the account you are replying from.
  4. Review the Work Function and Persona Description fields. Role presets are starting text. Replace any claimed experience, expertise, or preference that is not true of you.
  5. Use Communication Styles to describe the wording you want, then choose Save Settings and wait for the saved confirmation.

A fictional example of useful background is: “I design onboarding for small software teams. I usually discuss user research and support handoffs. Do not invent clients or results.” That is more useful than a long list of impressive-sounding adjectives.

For style, try: “Use plain English. Keep most replies to one or two sentences. Explain the practical point before adding a question. Avoid slogans and automatic praise.” The personalization tips show how to refine this after reviewing real drafts.

Enable it in the reply panel

Return to a supported social comment box and open ReplyPilot with /rp. Check the Personalization switch before generating. The panel can show that personalization is unavailable when it cannot find saved configuration for the current platform.

If that happens, return to the correct platform tab, confirm you saved it, and reopen the reply panel. A personalization tab in your account does not by itself mean the extension runs on every surface of that platform; consult the platform guide.

Use “Apply to All” deliberately

The account page also offers Apply to All. Use it when the same identity and style fit every configured platform. Review the other tabs afterwards so a company voice does not accidentally replace the preferences you intended for a personal account.

A professional background can stay consistent while the wording changes. A longer technical explanation may fit one discussion, while a simple acknowledgement fits another. Use the panel's reply settings and instructions for the task in front of you.

Check the result before saving more detail

Generate a draft on an ordinary post you understand. Look for invented experience, repeated self-promotion, and phrases you would never use. Change the instruction that caused the problem and test again. Keep private customer information, confidential work and credentials out of your profile.

Your final edit remains part of the process. Good personalization gives you a better starting point, while you decide whether the reply is accurate, appropriate, and worth posting.
