The decision in a minute
The short version
Choose ReplyPilot for a draft under the post you are reading. Choose Grais when answering depends on the conversation you have already had with a person. The shared LinkedIn label does not make those two writing jobs interchangeable. [1][7]
Choose ReplyPilot when
The reply belongs under a post.
You have chosen the post, want help putting your point into words, and will edit the result before posting. The /rp workflow is the relevant starting point. [1]
Choose Grais when
The relationship supplies the context.
You are replying in an ongoing messaging thread. Grais describes relationship memory and conversation continuity, with new contacts starting in review. [7][6]
A colleague publishes a useful LinkedIn post. You want to ask one precise question. Later, the same colleague sends you a message about a date you discussed last week. Both tasks involve a reply, but the information needed to write it is different.
ReplyPilot starts at the supported post comment box. Grais describes an assistant for an open message thread, with context built around the person. The useful comparison is where that context comes from and how much of it you need. [1][6]
A practical comparison
Side by side
Compare the documented workflow and the tradeoffs you will feel in daily use.
| What matters | ReplyPilot | Grais |
|---|---|---|
| Writing job | A draft for a supported social post comment. [1] | A reply in a messaging conversation with a person. [7] |
| Starting point | Type /rp in a supported comment box and generate from the panel. [1] | Open the supported message thread whose context you want to use. [7] |
| Context over time | The documented comment workflow and reply settings; ongoing per-person memory is not established by these support pages. [1][2] | Relationship memory, conversation history, and commitments are part of the product description. [6] |
| Review control | Read and edit the generated draft before posting. [1] | Contacts begin in review; its product page also describes per-contact approval and autonomy choices. [6][7] |
| LinkedIn use | The getting-started example is a post comment. [1] | The audience guide describes existing messages, not connection requests or outbound campaigns. [7] |
| Device choice | A Chrome/Chromium desktop extension; no generic mobile-app experience is promised. [1] | Invitation-gated desktop browser extension; iOS on TestFlight and Mac in development on the product page. [6] |
| Data to understand | Review the extension privacy policy and permissions for the workflow you use. [3] | Its policy covers conversation history, context, local caches, cloud processing, and enabled browser-task artifacts. [8][9] |
The stronger fit
Where Grais earns the extra context
A short message can be hard to answer because of what happened before it. “Does Thursday still work?” is easy only if you remember which Thursday, what you offered, and whether somebody was waiting for you. That is the kind of problem Grais positions itself around. [7]
For a buyer, the sensible test is whether useful history survives the way you actually move between conversations. Try a delayed follow-up with a harmless detail you can verify. Read what the draft assumes about the person before accepting its wording. A fluent answer that invents a commitment is still the wrong answer.
The ReplyPilot fit
Where a smaller writing task is enough
Under a public post, the author’s argument may be all the context you need. You are not asking an assistant to reconstruct your relationship. You want a relevant question, a clear disagreement, or a useful detail from your own experience.
ReplyPilot’s support guide keeps that action close to the comment field: open a post, invoke the panel, adjust settings, generate, and review. Its customization page describes tone and style choices. Neither description establishes that every generated reply is relevant or that every platform field works. [1][2]
Give the draft a real contribution to work with. If you disagree with a claim, name the claim and the reason. If you want to ask about a method, name the missing detail. Otherwise, the easiest output for any assistant is polite filler.
LinkedIn is a platform, not a single workflow
Grais’s LinkedIn audience guide explicitly frames its job as replying to existing message threads. ReplyPilot’s getting-started guide opens at a post comment box. A salesperson may need both jobs during the same afternoon, but a comparison should not flatten them into “LinkedIn support.” [7][1]
Before choosing, write down where you want the text to appear. Then try that exact field, on your usual device, with your account. A tool that handles an ordinary post comment may behave differently in a nested reply or a private thread. Treat those as separate checks.
A practical example
Try the distinction on one ordinary afternoon
Suppose a founder posts that a new onboarding flow reduced drop-off. Your comment asks whether the result came from a controlled experiment or a before-and-after comparison. A public reply assistant should help you make that question specific without implying you have seen the underlying data.
An hour later, that founder messages you about the introduction you offered last Tuesday. Now the source of truth is the prior conversation and what you actually promised. That is a different drafting test: does the assistant preserve the commitment, avoid inventing a deadline, and leave room for your correction?
These are proposed trial tasks, not a head-to-head benchmark we ran. Compare the assumptions in each draft, the edits you need, and whether the tool makes it clear what will happen next.
More memory also means more data to understand
Grais’s privacy policy describes capture of available conversation history, local upload caches, and batches sent to its services. Its data-handling page explains cloud providers and feature-dependent processing. Do not read relationship memory as a promise that processing stays entirely on your device. [8][9]
ReplyPilot’s published policy addresses preferences, retention, service providers, and deletion requests. Read the policy and the permission screen together. Neither comparison nor policy wording is an independent security assessment. [3]
For a sensitive message, start with a non-sensitive trial and keep review enabled. Ask how to remove stored conversation context, which integrations are active, and what authorization governs a send. LinkedIn’s own terms remain relevant to third-party tools even when a human edits the text. [5]
Check the device before building a habit around it
Grais currently gates new access by invitation. Its product pages distinguish the desktop extension from iOS TestFlight access and a Mac app still in development. ReplyPilot describes a desktop Chromium experience. If you do most of your writing on a phone, confirm current availability before paying for a desktop workflow. [6][10][1]
A useful trial has three checks: the assistant recognizes the right writing field; the draft uses only context you can verify; and the final action follows the review setting you chose. Repeat the test on a delayed conversation rather than judging only the first, easy message.
The cost of the workflow
Pricing and value
Compare the job you need before comparing the subscription.
A fresh visit to Grais’s pricing URL leads to an invitation-only access page. Joining the list does not activate an account; existing subscriptions retain their access and account billing controls. Older indexed pages still show Core and Pro amounts, so we do not present those as a current offer. Confirm access and terms in your invited account. [10]
No fixed ReplyPilot price is asserted here. Its pricing is supplied through the live plans and checkout, and cached search pages can show older offers. Confirm the current allowance and billing period for the comment workflow you intend to use. [4]
If the only problem you need to solve is the next public comment, do not pay for a wider workflow solely because it sounds more capable. If missed follow-ups are the recurring problem, evaluate the usefulness of remembered context before choosing on price.
Common questions
Are ReplyPilot and Grais independent products in this review?
This is a comparison published by ReplyPilot. The person behind ReplyPilot also works on Grais, so it is not an independent third-party review. We make no claim here about their exact corporate ownership.
Does the LinkedIn overlap mean either tool replaces the other?
No replacement follows from the shared platform name. The reviewed ReplyPilot guide describes a post comment, while Grais’s audience guide describes an existing message thread. Test the field you need. [1][7]
Does Grais send everything automatically?
Its product pages say new contacts start in review and describe additional per-contact trust choices. Check your actual setting and keep review for messages where an incorrect assumption would matter. [6][7]
Is the Grais iPhone app a public App Store release?
The reviewed product page describes iOS on TestFlight and the Mac app as in development. Those descriptions do not establish general public availability. [6]
Which trial should I run first?
Use a public post where you have one specific question, then a delayed private conversation with a verifiable commitment. Judge relevance and assumptions separately; this article does not report measured draft quality.
